Back in May, we took a little road trip. Bryan still didn't have a full-time job, so we figured we should take advantage of the free time he had while we had the chance. First, we drove to northern Tennessee for a strawberry festival. It was kind of a bummer because by the time we got there, almost all of the strawberries and strawberry flavored things were sold out. We did capture this adorable picture of Elijah during the parade though.
And this sweet picture of Elijah and Bryan on the bus that transported us from the parking lot to the area where the festival was.
That night, we went on to Kentucky. It was just a short drive from where we were. We went to a delicious Mexican restaurant, called Sol Azteca, for dinner and then to the Franklin Drive-In movie theater to see Guardians of the Galaxy 2. It was a beautiful evening.
The next morning, we continued our drive. We made it to St. Louis just in time to rush over for our reservation to go to the top of the Gateway Arch. Well, we were actually a little late, but they let us up on the last elevator ride for the night. Both Bryan and I had been to the arch on our own, but neither of us had ever been to the top. We had no idea what to expect. This was the elevator capsule that we rode to the top in. Talk about feeling a little claustrophobic and like we were in Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory.
Elijah really wasn't sure how to feel about it.
It did provide some amazing views though.
Our attempt at a selfie with the arch behind us.
After our adventure at the arch, we went to our hotel to check in for the night. We had booked the hotel on Priceline, so we weren't expecting anything fancy. We were checking in on Mother's Day, so the front desk clerk started by wishing me a Happy Mother's Day. She then went on to say that she was going to upgrade us to a room with a balcony so that I could go out on it and relax. It was so sweet of her. This was the amazing view that we had from our balcony.
After getting settled into our room, we decided to head out to get some dinner. Bryan captured this view of the sunset between the buildings on our walk to the restaurant.
Don't worry, we didn't leave Elijah in the hotel room. He was in the stroller right in front of us. :)
These were the buffalo chicken nachos that we had for dinner at Fox Sports Midwest Live. There was so much food, it was kind of ridiculous.
They had these crazy high highchairs to go with the crazy high table we sat at.
The view from our balcony when we got back later that night.
The three of us on our balcony before continuing on to Kansas City.
While in Kansas City, we got to spend a few days with Bryan's cousin Patty, her husband Steve and their children, Katie, Luke, and Lilly, as well as Bryan's Uncle Alan and Aunt Kathie. One afternoon, we went to the park with Patty and the kids.
Later that night, we went to Kauffman Stadium to watch the Kansas City Royals play the New York Yankees. We were quite happy as the Yankees went on to win the game.

Cheering on the Yankees can get exhausting!
Here are a few more pictures from the game, thanks to Katie:
Before we headed back to Nashville, I got this one last picture. Cousins with their children. :)
Thanks again to Patty and her family for their amazing hospitality!
